Coos Bay Speedway Roars Back into Action for 46th Season on the NASCAR Oval
As the scenic Coos Bay Speedway prepares for its 46th season to begin, promoter Drake Nelson has high hopes for the track in 2019. The 3/8th’s mile oval enters its 3rd season under the NASCAR banner and is poised to be the best season in recent memory.
All offseason, Nelson has been in communication with drivers across the speedway’s top NASCAR divisions, and recent discussions have the promoter optimistic that there will be a nice rise in car counts this season. In particular, Nelson named the Super Late Models, Sportsman Late Models and Street Stocks as divisions with the most promise to grow. With these divisions growing like they’re capable of and you combine them with a healthy Hornet class and growing Jr Stinger division, fans at Coos Bay Speedway will be in for some great racing.
Nelson has again put in the work to bring high paying Super Late Model shows to the Oregon coast. The two day Tidal Wave on July 20th and 21st, and the season ending Lucas Oil Open Show both promise to show fans the best of the best in Super Late Model racing.
On top of all the great local racing action you’ll be able to witness this season at Coos Bay Speedway, there will be several marquee events throughout the season. Included in these are the ISCS Winged Sprint Car Series, the IMCA Modified Speedweek, and the Wingless Sprint Series. These races all guarantee to bring high car counts and exciting racing to all those in attendance.
The NASCAR season opener is just two and a half months ahead, and with excitement building in the coming weeks, it’s going to be a show you won’t want to miss.
