2015 has been a little rough for Jacksonville's Mark Wauge. The pilot of the Dog House Racing/Payroll Specialties Inc./Hoppes Construction/Schram Brothers Excavating/Rodgers Racing Engines/ABC Powdercoating/BSB Manufacturing #1M Impressive has only just one win this year but he also has posted some impressive top five finishes. His lone victory came at Siskiyou Motor Speedway in Yreka, California at the $1,500.00 to win Bo Hinson Memorial a few weeks ago.

“This year has had a bit of slow start but we've been consistently finishing in the top five,” said Wauge, “all of last year we fought a bent rear end so really this season has been dealing with a brand new car.”

Mark will hope for some success at two familiar facilities in the opening legs of the Wild West Modified Shootout. He is a six-time Southern Oregon Speedway champion and a former winner of the Lon Skinner Memorial. At Siskiyou Motor Speedway he has won three Modified Mountain Challenge events. At Willamette Speedway he was the winner of the Willamette 100 and Sunset Speedway Park would see him emerge victorious at the Topless 100. He also got a victory at the Race Of Champions during the Cottage Grove Modified Nationals in 2013.

One of the big wins in his career would come for him in 2012 at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington at the Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals. So what are his thoughts about the coming speedweek? He currently has one career Wild West Modified Shootout win back in 2013 at Yreka.

“There is going to be some very stiff competition and just to make the main event every night is our goal,” he would continue, “if we can make a top ten that would be great but if can get a top three that would be totally awesome.”

The 2015 Wild West Modified Shootout kicks off at Southern Oregon Speedway on Saturday June 13th. The tour will wrap things up at Willamette Speedway on the 19th and 20th to close the speedweek out for the second straight year. Teams from Oregon, Washington, California, North Dakota, Montana, and British Columbia Canada are expected to make the journey.

All races will be broadcasted through Speed Shift TV and you can either purchase each race for $19.95 or buy the whole week for $99.95. Orders can be made onhttp://www.speedshifttv.com. Be sure and don't miss out on these great races featuring the best Modified drivers in the Pacific Northwest region.
