Coos Bay, Oregon- Tuesday July 2nd will be no day at the beach for the cars and stars of the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region at the Coos Bay Speedway. The event will be the fourth stop of this year’s Bully Dog Performance Speedweek Northwest presented by Contingency Connection. For drivers and teams it will be the one and only stop at coastal facility.

“Coos Bay can be kind of a curve ball for some of these drivers,” commented Brian Crockett, Series Director for ASCS-Northwest, “these teams don’t have a lot of experience at this track so it kind of makes it wide open as to who can win.”

In fact there have only been four total ASCS-Northwest Region events at Coos Bay. The last two years the only time the tour came to town was during Speedweek. In those four races three different drivers have visited the winner’s circle. Roger Crockett leads the series win list at CBS with two triumphs while Henry Van Dam and Travis Rilat have one win each.

In the last fifteen editions of Bully Dog Performance Speedweek Northwest there have been nine different champions. Steve Kent has the most, with four titles, while Roger Crockett has three and Brent Kaeding with two. Six drivers have won the entire kit and caboodle just once which is a very impressive list of winners. That list includes Brad Furr, Jesse Hockett, Bud Kaeding, Kyle Larson, Shane Stewart, and the 2012 victor Mitch Olson.
